Very excited to invite our Blanketeers to a Meet & Greet event on May 23rd from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the Pensacola Public Library, 239 N. Spring St. Light refreshments will be provided. Bring a project to work on and/or share with the group. Â
See you then!
Many thanks to Jitterbug Cafe located at 2050 N 12th Avenue, East Hill, Pensacola. Jitterbug has welcomed Project Linus as a maker and featured some small donated handmade items for sale in their store. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these items benefit Project Linus Escambia. Grateful thanks to you!
Finally, we've recently received a heartfelt thank you from the grandmother of a young blanket recipient. "I'm writing to thank you for the love and hugs you're spreading through Project Linus. The blanket is beautiful and obviously made with love and care."Â What a blessing to know that our work is making a difference in young lives.

I wanted to give you a couple of updates today. First of all, thank you so much for your continued dedication, Blanketeers. To date, we have received 42 blankets this month. That's on pace to be one of our top months so far. I also wanted to let you know that I can now accept limited donations of quilting fabric. Please make sure that the fabric donations are appropriate for children's quilts. (Remember that we serve 0-18 year olds.) And lastly, I found an excellent crochet blanket pattern. This pattern works up the border along with the rest of the blanket, so that once you're done, you're done! The link is found on Winding Road Crochet. Â
Happy stitching!

The year 2025 was a spectacular year for our Chapter. We have been receiving so very many wonderful blanket donations. We have also added to the agencies that we support. In the last 6 months of 2025 we received 250 blankets! Donors have knit, crocheted and quilted some beautiful pieces of all sizes.Â
Just before the holidays, I was able to deliver nearly 30 blankets to Lutheran Services Florida. They were grateful to receive them and told me that many of the children they serve find a lot of comfort from the gift of a personal item like a blanket. Here is a link to their website to learn more, LSF Family Focus. Â
I also would like to thank the volunteers that have been helping me to collect and put labels in our blankets. They are such a blessing. I truly appreciate Betty Green and Susan Larsen for their continued support. Â
A quick reminder:  I have some donated yarn that is ready to be made into lovely blankets. Reach out to me through our Chapter email (projectlinusescambia@gmail.com) and we can coordinate an exchange.Â
My personal wishes for a blessed and happy new year to all of you.

Our Chapter has received nearly 70 blanket donations this month. That is a Chapter record! Thank you so much Blanketeers.Â
As a reminder, I have some donated yarn that is ready to be made into lovely blankets. Reach out to me through our Chapter email (projectlinusescambia@gmail.com) and we can coordinate an exchange.Â
Additionally, Derrell's is hosting a "Charity Sew Day" on July 31. This is a day that they provide a 10% discount to makers and they also offer their classroom for work space.  Â
Lastly, I wanted to share that I received a lovely thank you from a mom whose children received blankets through Valerie's House. She wanted to share how much the blankets have meant to her children. "I think these blankets mean so much because of the meaning behind them."Â
